Profile
I am a non-fiction writer, editor, and graphic designer living in Sonoma County, California. A fairly detailed autbiographical summary of my life to date, my major interests, and my ongoing projects both for money and for pleasure can be found at my personal home page. Over the years i have written numerous books and magazine articles on topics ranging from comic book history to home gardening.I have been online since 1994 and have produced hundreds of factual web pages on dozens of topics, ranging from pre-war acoustic blues music to post-hippie sexual mysticism. I also spend about an hour per day in a range of usenet newsgroups answering questions about folklore and folk magic, with particular reference to African-American hoodoo.
With my husband nagasiva yronwode, i co-manage the 4,500 page Lucky Mojo web site on esoteric, religious, occult, and mystical subjects. About 1,500 of these pages are our own original essays; another 3,000 pages consist of archived usenet posts and public domain texts.
Like me, my husband is also a DMOZ editor. Together we co-own a small business, the Lucky Mojo Curio Co., that manufactures and distributes herb-based spiritual supplies for the hoodoo community as well as importing religious goods and folkloric magical amulets from all around the world. We also both currently work in the production department of Claypool Comics, a New Jersey-based publisher. In our spare time we maintain a religious-and-good-luck themed art car (license plate: MOJO CAR), which is covered both inside and out with colourful and meaningful talismanic amulets, lucky charms, and religious stauary from diverse cultures.
