Profile

My area of expertise is the intersection of kids and technology. This includes:

• Safe online communities for kids and teens
• Online safety and privacy legislation and best practices
• Effective and socially-responsible online marketing to children

  I am currently working as a writer and producer at Star Farm Productions, an independent entertainment company that designs, creates, and develops children's entertainment properties simultaneously in multiple media. Star Farm's unique approach engages children in the creative process, and a big part of that involves online community activities.

  Our first children's entertainment property is Edgar & Ellen.

  I am also a writer under the pen name Monk Ashland. I am currently working on a five-book young adult fantasy series called Kaimira. The first book will be out July 2008 with Candlewick Press and Walker Books.
