It becomes more and more difficult to find useful content on the Internet because of it vast growth every day. The Open Directory Project helps clearing those problems by providing the biggest human edited directory. Search engines and directories can use the data of the ODP under a free license.
The directory survives because of the many editors who dedicate themselves for a part of the huge diversion of categories. Since May 2000 I am one of them and I have found a community with people from all over the world.

Editing (or writing descriptions for submitted web sites) is not the only thing we are asked for. On nearly every page there is a Mozilla image which most likely came out of an editor's feather.
Tons of Tools for easier editing are created from editors as well as FAQs and online helps. If you are able to speak and communicate in another language than you can help translate official documents. |  |
