In my real job, I am the President and owner of a software/Internet development company, Procend Inc.
I have also been involved as a volunteer in SAR for 7 years. Currently, I belong to an Iowa-based team, STAR 1, that provides technical rescue, ground search and K9 teams. I am an operational K9 handler, a qualified ground searcher and have some cross-training in rope rescue, confined space and collapsed structure. I am the Eastern Iowa manager of the search unit and training coordinator for the search team. Additionally, I am a diver and belong to another underwater search and recovery team. I am also a medical First Responder and belong to a community response team that volunteers for school and community events. And finally (!), I am training a K9 towards certification for the FEMA US&R program.
