Profile

My "primary" profession was as a tax attorney in NYC for 30 years, but I also owned a travel agency on Long Island for 17 and did extensive travelling throughout the U.S. and Europe as both a businessman and a tourist.

I look forward to assisting the Open Directory Project with my knowledge on travelling, packing, hotels, and finding "the right" things to see and do. As the owner of a travel agency, I've been just about everywhere twice (or even thrice!). My passion is for epicurean delights and the arts thus so, I'm better at the big city stuff than roughing it down the Snake river.

12/2/99 - I have been spending so much time on the ODP lately my wife has decided that she wants to help me out (and I thought I was doing her a favor by saying out of her hair). She has quite of few friends who cater, decorate, arrange flowers etc. and has enjoyed tinkering around with ebay a bit.

1/17/00 - My wife and I got back from an extensive vacation (involving three continents) a few days ago and boy is my pocketbook hurting! I was able to complete a few ODP duties while on the road with my portable. I have a few email responses to get out to concerning DMOZ so will leave this entry short. Enjoy the New Millenium my friends!!! (or, the last real year of the old millenium to you die hards) - Joe

4/2/00 - I just finalized the details on a trip to France this summer. I'll be joined by my friend Jon this time as my loving wife can't make it on this one due to her illness. I plan to travel with the tour for 3 1/2 weeks in July. I'll be doing a lot of bicycle riding on my new Pinarello (Italian bicycle) but probably more driving in the Renault I rented. - Joe
