My hair is grey, my back is bent,
My teeth are not my own.
And strangers call me "dear" now
When we're talking on the phone.
But late at night, alone at home
I leave all that behind
My friends along the internet
Care only for my mind.
I don't tell people what I do:
It really doesn't fit.
If they should ask I just reply,
"I sit and interknit."

And youngsters take my arm
So I don't have to cross alone.
And I confess the part I play
Is what most folks expect.
Who'd figure an old broad like me
And IT would connect?
But how the years do fall away
How young I feel, and free!
Oh how my spirit soars
When I am coding PHP!
