Profile
Hi, my name's Francois, I've been involved in the cross-cultural communication / intercultural management field now for over 20 years. I currently live in England, but have spent parts of my life in Canada, Switzerland and 15 years in Japan. Consequently I am familiar with the field not only as it is understood in North America, but also in Europe and Asia. The field of intercultural communication as a discipline is relatively new and as such not so well understood. This is why I am an editor of this category: My main aim is to promote the field as it is generally understood academically and professionally around the world, by listing sites which contribute to the field or to people's understanding of the field.
This is not a catch-all category. Please do not submit sites which are 'international' simply because you cannot find a category that fits. Sites included in this category are specifically cross-cultural sites as the field is generally understood and defined in the world organisation (and UN NGO) SIETAR (Society of Intercultural Training And Research), from a business service perspective. Having said that the field itself is culturally biased, depending on where you operate, so I try to keep an open mind, and always welcome your views.
