Profile

I am a Mechanical Engineer who has spent my entire career in the science of industrial and medical vacuum, and wouldn't think of doing anything else. I have been responsible for the engineering and marketing functions of some of the leading industrial pump manufacturers, as Marketing Manager, and Director of Engineering. I teach two courses on vacuum applications and engineering, and have written a handbook on industrial vacuum applications and engineering.

I currently serve (since 1988) as a Principle Member on the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) Committee on Piping Systems, of the NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities, which sets the national standards for all piped gases used in health care facilities.

In the way of hobbies, I collect cameras and flashbulbs. My collection currently numbers in excess of 600 different cameras, and over 120 different flashbulbs. The cameras date from 1885.
