This category includes the activities directly sponsored by Scientology churches and the secular application of Mr. Hubbard’s drug rehabilitation technology in Narconon programs. Narconon is a grassroots movement, supported by Scientologists and Scientology churches. It was begun in the mid-1960s when a prisoner in the Arizona State Penitentiary solved his own drug problem using the principles described in one of L. Ron Hubbard’s books.
