The PAW was formed as an association in Los Angeles, California, in 1906, in the wake of the Azusa Street revival.
Originally the association was Trinitarian, the PAW split with the Assemblies of God over the issue of baptism in Jesus' name. Thus the PAW today is an interracial Oneness Pentecostal denomination.
World Headquarters are in Indianapolis, Indiana.
