The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints broke from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the 1850s over issues of succession to the presidency after the death of Joseph Smith. They are headquartered in Independence, Missouri. On April 6, 2001, the name of the church officially changed to the Community of Christ.
The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints(FLDS) split off the mainstream LDS Church because the FLDS practice polygamy, while the mainstream LDS has renounced the practice. There are also members living in Eldorado, Texas; Colorado; South Dakota; and British Columbia.
