Similarly, certain issues related to abuse are more appropriately placed elsewhere in the directory. For example, sites relating to child abuse should be submitted to Child Abuse, and sites relating to abuse of people with disabilities should be submitted to Disabilities/Abuse.

Sites that deal with the issues of violence or abuse in our society, including violence against individual people or classes of people, violence in certain places, and the study of violence and violent behavior as well as non-violent forms of abuse such as psychological abuse or neglect.

Abuse of our Elderly can be in the form of Physical Abuse, Financial Abuse, Neglect, Self-Neglect, Psychological/Emotional Abuse, and/or Abandonment. This category of the directory is for information about any of these instances of Elder Abuse.

Family Violence

Submit resources related to parent education, batterer intervention programs, counseling, workshops and conferences to treat and/or prevent family violence.

Harassment

Please submit only websites pertaining to sexual harassment regardless of setting. For example, the website should focus on the issue in general, or have comprehensive coverage of the issue as it manifests in many types of settings-workplace, school, military, etc. Commercial sites focusing on sexual harassment are acceptable as long as they are also very informative. (Commercial sites for sole purpose of selling products or services should be submitted to a shopping category.) All constructive perspectives are welcome.

Hazing

Hazing is defined by the FIPG (Fraternity Insurance Purchasing Group) as: "Any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off fraternity premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Such activities may include but are not limited to the following: use of alcohol; paddling in any form; creation of excessive fatigue; physical and psychological shocks; quests, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, road trips or any other such activities carried on outside or inside of the confines of the chapter house; wearing of public apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste; engaging in public stunts and buffoonery; morally degrading or humiliating games and activities; and any other activities which are not consistent with fraternal law, ritual or policy or the regulations and policies of the educational institution."
