Italian is and Italo-Dalmatian member of the Italic subgroup of the Indo-European language family spoken by 62 million people in 29 countries, 55 million of which are in Italy.

Please submit pages dealing with specific dialects of Italian, or with Italian dialects in general.
Note also that some Romance traditional dialects in Italy are considered by most linguists to constitute a different language altogether (e.g. Sardinian, Friuli, Ladin), and should not be included with Italian at all.
