Bandon, or Bandon-by-the-Sea, is located on the southern Oregon coast at the mouth of the Coquille River, 90 miles north of the California border. It is known for beachcombing, fishing, golf, and its oceanside location. Bandon is also the Cranberry Capital of Oregon.

Bend was originally called Farewell Bend because it was here that travelers over the pioneer roads had their last view of the river. Bend is almost at the geographic center of Oregon.
