The Michigan Central Region is roughly defined as the east-west band of 14 counties between I-96 and US-10. Included in this region are Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Midland, Muskegon, Newago, Oceana, Osceola, and Saginaw counties.

Included in this region are Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford counties.
