Newton is a city (population approximately 83,000), located just west of Boston, in Middlesex County in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Established as a town in 1691, and incorporated as a city in 1873, Newton is composed of 12 to 14 (depending on which source you believe) "villages" or neighborhoods.
