Located 10 miles north-northeast of Valdosta, Georgia. Home to the 347th Rescue Wing, the only Combat Search and Rescue Wing in the Air Force. Moody AFB is named for Major George P. Moody, who was killed while testing a Beech AT-10 on May 5, 1941.
