Ho Chi Minh (born Nguyễn Sinh Cung) was the first leader of independent North Vietnam after independence from France. The city of Ho Chi Minh is named after him.
General Giap, born 1912, was the seniormost leader of the military in the Vietnamese resistance to French rule, and later of the North Vietnamese during the first and second Indochinese wars.
