The Disney-MGM Studios opened to the public on May 1, 1989. The park's dedication plaque describes the vision behind it all: «The world you have entered was created by The Walt Disney Company and is dedicated to Hollywood—not a place on a map, but a state of mind that exists wherever people dream and wonder and imagine, a place where illusion and reality are fused by technological magic. We welcome you to a Hollywood that never was—and always will be.» On January 7, 2008, the park's name was changed to "Disney's Hollywood Studios."

Epcot, originally EPCOT Center, opened on October 1, 1982. The name came from Walt Disney's vision for an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. The icon of the park is Spaceship Earth, which resembles a very large golf ball. The park is divided into two sections - Future World and World Showcase. The former focuses on the past and future of technology advancements. World Showcase highlights the art, architecture and culture of the countries surrounding the World Showcase Lagoon. The dedication plaque for the park reads: To all who come to this place of joy, hope and friendship, welcome. Epcot Center is inspired by Walt Disney's creative genius. Here, human achievements are celebrated through imagination, the wonders of enterprise, and concepts of a future that promises new and exciting benefits for all.
