Sites which offer counseling services for people suffering from grief, loss, or bereavement.

Grief is the pain, misery, anguish, suffering, or distress caused by bereavement.

Loss occurs as a result of losing a possession, a person, or can be caused by deprivation or a change of circumstance. Losses can occur through the death of a child, a spouse, a friend, hero, leader, or relative.

Bereavement is caused by loss, especially the loss of a loved one. A loss of position in the community, dignity, security, or reputation can result in feelings of bereavement.
Please note:

If you are an individual (or couple, or two therapists in practice together) offering online clinical services of some type, you must submit your site to the Individual Practitioners subcategory, not this general category. This general category includes only broader service offerings, articles, and directories.

We also highly recommend that identifying information about your (or your counselors'', if you are a larger practice) clinical training, experience, and background be readily available on the Web site. Discerning readers tend to discredit sites with little or no real-world identifying information.

By following these guidelines, your listing will be published more quickly than it would otherwise. Thank you!

NB: This category is for providers who are licensed mental health counselors practicing in the United States. Sites about licensed psychologists belong in Health/Mental_Health/Counseling_Services/Psychologists/United_States/. Sites which adhere to DMOZ guidelines will likely be edited and listed more quickly. Generally speaking, this means following the basic formula of "What the site is about + Noteworthy features of the site." This does not mean a keyword-heavy description of the counseling services offered. DMOZ is looking for a description of what will be found on your site, not an advertisement for your practice. If you load your description with hype, keywords, etc., it will slow down the process of getting listed.
