Anthony Hopkins - Welsh leading actor, now living in Hollywood, born 31st December 1937, Margum, nr. Port Talbot, West Glamorgan, Wales. Studued at RADA, and on the stage from 1960. From 1967 to 1972 was a member of the national Theatre, before going to America to make films. Films include 'When Eight bells Toll' (1971), 'The Elephant Man' (1980), and as Hannibal Lecter in 'Silence of the Lambs' (1991), for which he got an Oscar. He was knighted in 1993.
