Violin makers or those who provide information and resources regarding violin makers should submit their sites to this category. Those who make other stringed instruments (e.g., viola, cello, contrabass) as well as the violin should submit their sites to:

Arts: Music: Instruments: Stringed: Bowed Strings: Makers.

This category is intended for those musical instrument makers who limit themselves to the violin.
Violin organizations, societies, and associations.
Please submit only sites by and for accomplished "modern" classical violinists, those who are currently active (for example, "Midori") or whose careers date back to the twentieth century (for example, "Jascha Heifetz"). Sites can include biographies, discographies, sound and video clips, analyses of playing style, or discographies. For violinists who are not exclusively classical violinists or don''t otherwise conform to requirenets to be listed in this category, please see if your submission would fit the requirements for another category. Classical violinists use the playing styles and repertory of Western classical music. Western classical violin music is generally understood as the formal 'art music' traditions that originated in Europe in the 16th century have continued to present time with music written by composers that range from Corelli and Vivaldi to Philip Glass.
