Backyard Wrestling is a form of amateur wrestling that is not associated with any athletic commissions. It grew from some friends getting together in their backyard and having wrestling matches; hence the name. Some Backyard Wrestling federations are quite large while others are still just some friends getting together. Keep in mind that some federations may have risky practices, but any physical activity can be risky without the proper precautions and training.
