Please submit sites for snowcat skiing companies or sites providing industry information:

  • Do not submit sites for companies that provide helicopter and snowcat skiing tours, or whose primary service is not snowcat skiing. These should be submitted one level up in the directory in Guides and Tours.

  • Titles should be concise. Include the formal name of the company or web site.

  • Descriptions should include the types of packages available, location, and features included on the web site.

  • Avoid using marketing hype, excessive keywords, repetition of words in the title and description, or using the category name in your description -- these will all get your listing rejected or delay its inclusion in the directory.

Snowcat skiing provides guided powder skiing tours in backcountry areas and terrain. Rather than using traditional ski lifts, skiers are transported around a mountain in a snowcat -- something along the lines of a small bus on large tank treads.

Packages are generally available for either a single day or multiple days of skiing, with lodging available on-site or at nearby hotels.

Snowcat skiing is suitable for intermediate or advanced skiers who have experience skiing in powder, although some companies will provide special packages for skiers just learning to ski in deep snow. Safety equipment, including avalanche transceivers, is typically provided to guests as part of the package. Weather can be variable -- be sure to check with the tour operators to find out what to pack.
