Horses and ponies must be trained for the job they are required to do. Training may be specific to a particular discipline, for example, Dressage, or Driving. Or it may be more general - basic backing to saddle, sorting out behavioural problems. Some horse owners may be experienced enough to train their own horses - others will call on the services of a horse trainer.
