Top: Society: Subcultures: Bikers

If your site pertains to the biker lifestyle it belongs here. If the site is more about your bike than it is you, it also belongs here, because to some people their bike is their life. If your site is about a particular brand of motorcycle and says nothing about the person riding it, please go to the motorcycles category.
Traditional definition of biker: A man who leads a lifestyle that revolves around being part of the brotherhood of riders of American-made motorcycles.

Contemporary definition of biker: A person who leads a lifestyle that revolves around being part of the brotherhood and sisterhood of motorcycle riders, and share traditional attitudes about the code of the road.

More controversial questions:

Are Fair Weather Riders(FWR) bikers? They are motorcycle enthusiasts, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Are yuppies, on motorcycles you can't afford, bikers? Do an attitude check. The answer lies more in whether or not they've got your back when you need them. Whomever you have for friends is up to you.

In conclusion, bikers is a lifestyle. Sometimes it is a "Lifestyle with Attitude".

Biker-Friendly Campgrounds

Biker-friendly campgrounds are particularly difficult to find, particularly when you have loud pipes. There are other categories for campgrounds but theses cater to bikers.

Biker Bars

This category includes "biker-friendly bars" as well as "biker bars". There may be slight differences between the two, but either belong here.

Bikers' Rights

Sites pertaining primarily to legal and social issues related to bikers rights, including helmet laws and other topics.

Directories

Websites which specialize in having many links to other Biker-related websites.

International

There is a North American definition of "Bikers" as a subculture, which implies they tend to ride American-made motorcycles and tend to have similar societal issues based on perceptions about them.

In other parts of the world, the definition of Bikers is not as strictly confined to riders of American-made motorcycles. They tend to have similar 2-wheeled lifestyles as their American and Canadian counterparts, and face similar issues.

This category should be used for these groups of people and the societal issues which they face.

"If you look like a Biker, and smell like a Biker, then guess what - you're a biker." Welcome.

Personal Pages

Welcome to Bikers Personal Sites. This category should be used by to post personal sites(meaning primarily non-commercial, non-business but a few plugs are acceptable). This site should be used for sites within and about the biker subculture. Please refer to the description for the bikers category to find out more about traditional and contemporary definitions of "biker". The subculture "bikers" is distinct from "motorcyclists" and "motorcycle enthusiasts", with distinctions coming primarily from attitude and lifestyle. There is at least one other category for Bikers personal sites listed in the Open Directory Project (ODP) under Recreation: Motorcycles: Manufacturers: Harley Davidson: The Experience: Personal Home Pages. If you ride Harleys, and nothing but, you may chose to post your site in one or the other category. In America, "bikers" usually refers to the people who ride American made motorcycles more than drive a car. In other countries, "bikers" may refer to people who have a two-wheeled lifestyle regardless of manufacturer. In either case, if you ride more than drive, or if you live a "biker" lifestyle, your website is appropriately placed here.
