more information (editors only)

The concept of a personal Creator who remains interested in the creatures He has made is a fundamental concept of theism and Christianity in particular.

This category is for sites with content that examines the issue of origins from the framework of a world view that includes a Creator, as opposed to the evolutionist/naturalist view that our present world and all that is in it evolved by chance and natural selection through billions of years.

Books

Only online books should be submitted.
The books section of origins and creations has a list of online books discussing topics in the field of origins and creations.

Creation vs Evolution

Please only submit sites that deal with the debate of creation vs. evolution.
Sites in the category deal with the debate of creation vs. evolution.

Denominational Views

This category is for position papers or church documents about creation which have been approved by denominations. Some Christian denominations have explicitly stated that an evolutionary interpretation of biological diversity is incompatible with their interpretations of Christianity. Others indicate that an evolutionary perspective towards the material world is generally compatible with their interpretations of Christianity.

Directories

Intelligent Design

This category is for sites dealing with the theory of Intelligent Design, the scientific arguments for and against it, and the theological arguments for and against it.

Sites dealing with general Creationism, and general controversy over the way that evolution is taught, should be directed to other categories such as Science/Science_in_Society/Science_and_Religion/Evolution/ and Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/Perspectives/Origins_and_Creation/Creation_vs_Evolution/

Intelligent Design is the proposition that life on Earth is so complex that it could not have arisen through the forces of nature alone, but that at least some aspects of it must have been intelligently designed by a power outside the laws of nature, generally assumed to be God.

Proponents of Intelligent Design argue that while some aspects of the theory of evolution are valid, there are many gaps in naturalistic scientific explanations that can only be explained by the presence and actions of this intelligent designer.

This category is for sites specifically dealing with the theory of Intelligent Design, the scientific arguments for and against it, and the theological arguments for and against it.

Sites dealing with general Creationism, or general controversy over the way that evolution is taught, should be directed to other categories such as Science/Science_in_Society/Science_and_Religion/Evolution/ and Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/Perspectives/Origins_and_Creation/Creation_vs_Evolution/

Old Earth Views

People often get confused with this category and the evolution category. In this category do not submit sites that do not believe in a Creator. This category is for sites with a Christian point of view.

If your site is not about a Christian viewpoint, you should consider submitting it to Science/Physics/Cosmology,Science/Biology/Evolution, or a related category.

This category is for sites that promote the view that God created the universe, but that it occurred or began not merely 6,000 to 10,000 years ago, but millions or billions of years ago.

Some arguments are based on the evidence for "design" in nature. Other arguments propose a "gap" between verses in Genesis which allow for an old age for the original material of this earth. Others suggest that the days of Genesis were actually long ages of time.

Personal Pages

One's position in this controversy affects all aspects of his or her life. Were we created or did we evolve by random processes from an amoeba? If we were created, then there is purpose, if we evolved, there is none. If there is a Creator, there are absolutes, if not, there are no absolutes. The pages listed in this category attempt to show that the evidence favors a Creator God rather than blind chance for our origin.

Young Earth View

Young Earth Views are also categorized as Short-Chronology Creationists.

Submit only sites that promote evidence in favor of a creation event which occurred thousands rather than millions of years ago. This will include sites that give young-earth views on geological strata, fossils, astronomy, biology, and other sciences.

Sites in this category present evidence for a young earth whose age is measured in thousands rather than billions of years.

Evidence of cataclysmic events (catstrophism) that account for geological strata, fossils, and other evidence which is elswhere cited as proof of an old earth. Other evidence may be from history, anthropology, astronomy, biology, or other sciences.
