Many independent black Primitive Baptist churches joined in a national convention in 1907. Although some churches do hold to the Sovereign Grace Doctrine, the Arminian (Freewill) Doctrine is also very prominent within the convention.
This group differs doctrinally and differs in practice than what is commonly understood as "Primitive Baptist" due to it being a convention and due to the Arminian doctrine influences.
