Association sites should be submitted to the Regional Associations sub category.

Local church sites should be submitted via the Local Churches link where you will see a list of @links to the various Regional Associations. Click on the one for your Regional Association, and then submit via the Local Churches link on the page you are taken to.

The Baptist Union, with headquarters in Didcot, Oxfordshire, counts some 160,000 members in about 2,150 affiliated churches.

Local Churches

Please do not submit church sites to this category, but click on the Regional Associations sub-category and then navigate to your local Association and submit your site via the Local Churches sub-category within your Regional ssociation sub category.

The only exception to this rule is for churches which are affiliated to Baptist Union of Great Britain but NOT to a Regional or local Baptist Association within the South East Partnership - such churches may submit here.

If your church is affiliated to more than one national Union you may only submit to one of them, but you may mention the other affiliation in your site description.

You may also submit your local church site to the appropriate location in the Regional section of the Open Directory using the Related Category link to Regional:Europe:United Kingdom below.

Local Baptist churches affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain.

Regional Baptist Associations

If you wish to submit a site for a Regional Association, affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain, please click on the appropriate Association link in this category.

Association sites affiliated to other UK Unions should be submitted to the relevant category for that Union using the related category link to Society: Religion and Spirituality: Christianity: Denominations: Baptist: Baptist Groups.

Associations which are affiliated to more than one UK union should only be submitted to one category. The description may include the other affiliation.

Local Church sites should not be submitted in this category. To submit a Local Church site, click on the appropriate Regional Association sub-category, and then the Local_Churches sub-category, and use the Add URL link at the top of that page to submit a site. To submit a site for a Local Church not affiliated to any Regional Association listed on this page, click on the Local Church sub-category link and read the guidelines there.

The general OD guidelines apply to this category. Descriptions should focus primarily on the content of the web site, but may include a brief description of the Association, giving its geographical coverage and function. Please indicate whether the site uses frames or JavaScript.

Please do NOT submit redirecting urls. Sites which have their own domain name but are hosted on the web space of a different server, should submit the full url where the site is hosted, and not the redirecting domain name address. (for example - an Association with a forwarding domain name AnywhereBaptistAssociation.org.uk which redirects to http://internet.service.provider/AnywhereBaptistAssociation.html, should submit the latter url.

The Baptist Union of Great Britain is organised into a number of Regional Associations. Local Baptist Churches are voluntarily affiliated to these Associations.
