This category includes web pages dealing with military horse mounted cavalry (i.e. regular forces, special forces, reserve and militia forces, irregular forces) and mounted police forces. It also includes national, sub-national, supra-national, extra-national, and historic units.

Please do submit official and unofficial sites dealing with such units; personal pages of cavaliers from such units; unit associations; historical analyses; or other pages studying, celebrating, or citicizing such units.

Please do not submit re-enactor, entertainment, or business sites, which have their own categories elsewhere.

Please submit pages to their most precise sub-category, rather than to a broader category.

"Horse cavalry" covers military or police units, employing cavaliers mounted on horses. These cavaliers may operate from the saddle; they may also use horses only for transportation to and from a site of an engagement, and dismount to operate independently of their horses.

Horse cavalry has existed for thousands of years, and indeed is one of the hallmarks of civilization. Although the 20th century saw a sharp decline in the military application of horse cavalry, such units have seen something of a resurgence in theatres such as Afghanistan and sub-Saharan Africa.
