This category contains sites for professional associations for paralegals (also known as legal assistants) in North America. Although there is no single generally accepted definition of the terms "legal assistant" and "paralegal", generally, those individuals perform substantive legal work under the supervision of an attorney, that in the absence of the paralegal/legal assistant, would be performed by the attorney. Paralegals and legal assistants are generally qualified through education and/or experience to perform these tasks.
