Malpractice describes the negligent conduct of a professional, which causes injury to a client of that professional, or sometimes injury to relatives or people in privacy with the client. This may arise in the context of medical treatment (medical malpractice), legal representation (legal malpractice), accounting or tax services (accountant malpractice), or in any other transaction between a regulated professional and a consumer.
