Involuntary commitment is a sensitive and controversial subject in mental health. Often family members, friends, law enforcement, or mental health professionals feel that this is necessary for the safety of the individual or others. This category is intended to present both sides of this issue so that all may be better educated on both the good and the abuse that can occur.
