Top: Society: Ethnicity: Indigenous_People
The people who inhabited a particular country or region prior to its settlement in historic times by immigrants. The word "indigenous" or "native" is used to distinguish such peoples from the later arrivals.
This category should eventually become a comprehensive resource for people to find information on the culture and history of Pacific Island people. I would also like to see this category include resources within the Pacific that are of importance to the people living there, including academic, economic, social welfare, environmental, non-governmental and governmental resources, all things of importance to their survival.
