A joint project between the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization and NASA, Clementine collected lunar mapping data before malfunctioning in 1994.
Five NASA Lunar Orbiter missions were launched in 1966 through 1967 with the purpose of mapping the lunar surface before the Apollo landings.
NASA's small, robotic spacecraft with a payload of only five instruments which made lunar observations at low orbit from 1998-1999.
