Please submit sites primarily selling products online to the most appropriate category within the Shopping branch as they will not be listed here.
Before submitting a site, be sure to read the corresponding category description.
Please submit to an appropriate subcategory, if one is available. Otherwise, submit here. Failure to submit to the most specific appropriate category can delay the consideration of your submission.
For more information, please refer to the DMOZ Science FAQ.
Cogeneration: a process that converts a fuel into both thermal and electrical energy. The thermal energy may be in the form of steam, hot water, or hot air, or any combination of the three. This term is becoming obsolete, and is gradually moving towards the "CHP" (combined heat and power) term. Also includes District Energy: "District energy systems produce steam, hot water or chilled water at a central plant and then pipe that energy out to buildings in the district."

Micro CHP

This category is intended for science oriented listings.

Combined heat and power (CHP) is the simultaneous generation of useful heat and electricity. Micro CHP systems replace the boiler in conventional central heating systems (typically single household). Technologies include external heat engines (e.g. Stirling, Rankine cycle), internal combustion engines (e.g. Otto cycle), fuel cells and Thermophotovoltaic systems. Micro CHP is sometimes known as residential CHP or residential cogeneration.

Organizations

Merchants and consultants are encouraged to list their sites in the Shopping, Regional or Business categories of the Open Directory Project.

This category is intended for science oriented listings. Sites added to this category will be organizations that provide information on the science of energy cogeneration.
