Theory

The main schools of IR theory are liberalism (or idealism) whose adherents believe that international systems can be developed to preseve peace and ensure cooperation and realism whose adherents believe that the world is in a state of "international anarchy" requiring states to pursue and aggressive, self-intersted foreign policy.
