Isan

Isan (or Isaan or Esarn) is a language spoken in the north-east of Thailand. It is more closely related to Lao than to Thai, but has tonal and vocabulary differences from both languages.

Lao

Lao is a member of the Lao-Phutai subgroup of the Tai-Kadai language family spoken by as many as 4 million speakers principally located in and around the Mekong River Valley region of south-east Asia.

It is also known as Laotian Tai, Laotian, Phou Lao, Eastern Thai, Lum Lao, Lao Wiang, Lao Kao, Rong Kong, Tai Lao, Lao-Tai, Lao, Lao-lum and Lao-Noi.

Thai

Thai is a member of the Chiang Saeng subgroup of the Tai-Kadai language family spoken by approximately 25 million speakers primarily located in Thailand and neigboring countries in south-east Asia.

It is also known as Central Tai, Standard Thai, Thaiklang and Siamese.
