Please submit to this category any site which is principally about pre-4th century BC Greek, or Greek from a later period written in this style; Koine Greek (e.g. the Greek of the Bible) has a separate sub-category.

Strictly defined, Classical Greek is the principal language which was spoken in Greece and her colonies during the fifth and fourth centuries BC. This category, however, covers the Greek from a few centuries either side to include both Homer and the bible.

Fonts and Software

Please only submit sites dealing primarily with Ancient and Biblical Greek fonts and software.
Fonts are sets of typographic characters, typically used to write documents on word processors. Well known examples are the Arial or Times New Roman fonts bundled with the Windows operating systems.

Grammars

For quicker placement in the directory please follow these Submission Tips:

Title: Name of Business or Organization

Description: This describes the website and should note distinguishing features found on the site without the use of hype, personal pronouns, or repetitive terms.

Find links to Classical and Biblical Greek grammars online or for sale.

Koine

Please submit sites concerning the language and learning of Koine (= New Testament) Greek.

From the time of Alexander's conquest, the common language ("koine dialektos") of the eastern Mediterranean was a simplification of classical Attic Greek. Notable texts during this Hellenistic period were the Septuagint (LXX - Greek version of the Hebrew Bible) and the New Testament.
