This category is for sites about various forms of local lodging facilities, including bed and breakfasts, hostels, hotels, motels, resorts, and vacation rentals. It includes both the sites of these facilities and sites providing information about the available choices.

Bed and Breakfast

This category is for the listing of sites with a presence throughout the region. If your site does not have locations or offer information serving the entire region, please submit to your locality instead.
Submitting your site to the wrong category will hinder your site's addition to the directory
AAA classifies a Bed and Breakfast as a limited service lodging type with the following definition;

"Usually smaller establishments emphasizing a more personal relationship between operators and guests, leading to an "at home" feeling. Guest units tend to be individually decorated. Rooms may not include some modern amenities such as television and telephones, and may have a shared bathroom. Usually owner-operated, with a common room or parlor, separate from the innkeeper's living quarters, where guests and operators can interact during evening and breakfast hours. Evening office closures are normal. A continental or full, hot breakfast is served and is included in the room rate."

This category is for sites offering information on guides to hotels and motels across the Piedmont region of North Carolina.

Vacation Rentals

This category is for sites and directories featuring vacation rentals in MORE THAN ONE COUNTY across the Piedmont Region of North Carolina.

If you only have a single property, please list your site under the town in which your rental property is located. If your town isn't listed, submit the site to this category and please be sure to include the name of the town in the title (Sundown Terrace Vacation Home- Lower Podunk, NC). The site will be moved to the correct town and a link to the town created here.

To improve your chances of a successful submission, please observe the following guidelines:"

  • Submit each site only once.
  • Submit only to the locality where the vacation rental is physically located.
  • Use the following title format:

    • Individual Sites: Property Name or Property Address
    Company Sites: Company Name
  • Summarize the main features and the subject matter of your site in one or two short sentences or phrases.
  • Proof your description for spelling and grammar errors before you click on submit.

Any of the following will delay the review process:

  • Advertising hype
  • Excessive use of caps
  • Submitting to a locality (town) other than the one where the vacation rental is physically located
  • Keyword stuffing
  • Lack of verifiable address posted on the site

This category is for listing sites pertaining to vacation rentals. Vacation rentals are lodging accommodations offered in the form of a home, condo, cottages and cabins or villa being made available for a short term rental. Vacation Rentals are typically furnished, include kitchen facilities, and usually rent by the week. if your property is not a vacation rental but a long term rental or time share, please submit to Real Estate/Rentals.
