For sites specifically geared towards the Catskill Region. Anyone submitting a site to this category must follow the following requirement and procedures. Submitting a site based in another locality may prevent listing in the directory. Every site listed is visited by the category editor for verification of adherence to the guidelines. This category is for sites covering business and economic activities including companies and industries. Depending on the type of company, some sites should instead be submitted to Arts and Entertainment, Sports and Recreation, or Travel and Tourism, or to a Business and Economy sub-category. For best results, compare existing listings before submitting your site.

Submit websites that are related exclusively to the entire geographic area or to more than one of the county areas contained within the region.

Most sites should be submitted to a locality. Listing at higher levels is allowed for companies with multiple locations spanning several localities or counties, and for clubs or associations drawing members from a broad area.

Tips for Faster Acceptance:

  1. Location must be shown, preferably by address or local phone number.
  2. Submit each site only once.
  3. Submit only to the locality where the office is physically located.

  4. For title, submit actual name of business or organization.
  5. Make description factual, avoiding promotional language and Unnecessary Capitalization.
List only sites that are relevant to the area of the Catskills. Example sites that deal with information about a large area of the Catskills, that is more than one county. If your site is relevant to a single county or locality in the Catskills find the proper county or locality in New York and list it in the appropriate category or subcategory.

Real Estate

Only sites with multiple offices locations will be accepted in this category.
Individual real estate agents (or companies) with a single office location will not be listed here, and should be submitted to the appropriate locality, regardless of the areas covered.

To improve your chances of a successful submission, please observe the following guidelines:"

  • Submit each site only once.
  • Submit only to the locality where the office is physically located.
  • Include areas served in the description (up to three).
  • Use the following title format:

    •       Individual Sites: Agent Name - Company Name
          Company Sites: Company Name
  • Summarize the main features and the subject matter of your site in one or two short sentences or phrases.
  • Proof your description for spelling and grammar errors before you click on submit.

Any of the following will delay the review process:

  • Advertising hype
  • Excessive use of caps
  • Keyword stuffing
  • Lack of verifiable address
