New London County is located in the southeast corner of Connecticut. It is bounded on the north by Hartford, Tolland and Windham Counties, on the west by Middlesex County, on the south by Long Island Sound and on the east by Rhode Island.
The area of Windham County is 771.7 square miles and at the 2000 census, the population was 259,088.
