Hartford County is located in the north central part of Connecticut. It is bounded on the north by Massachusetts, on the west by Litchfield County, on the south by New Haven, Middlesex and New London Counties and on the east by Tolland County.
The area of Hartford County is 750.6 square miles and at the 2000 census, the population was 857,183.
