The Central Region crosses the north coast from Baie Verte Peninsula to Bonavista Bay and Terra Nova National Park. The demarcation between Central Region and Eastern Region is at the southern tip of Terra Nova National Park excluding Port Blandford, south to Belle Bay, to a point midway between Bay de l'Eau and English Harbour, so that English Harbour is in Eastern Region.

The Western Region comprises the old 'French Shore' and takes in the Northern Peninsula south to Burgeo on the Southwest coast. The border starts at White Bay just below Purbeck's Cove and crosses the interior to include Kitty's Brook and Hammonds and proceeds south to Turk's Cove, just east of Burgeo.
