Brokerages

Brokerage firms that offer services to the public for trading stocks, bonds, and/or mutual funds as well as speculative instruments. Such firms usually charge a commission for carrying out the purchase, sale, trade or disposition of securities or other assets for which they are licensed.

This category does NOT accept listings for local investment clubs. Investment clubs will be listed in the Locality where they hold their meegings.
An investment club is a group of individuals, usually comprised of friends, coworkers or neighbors, who meet on a regular basis for the purpose of pooling their funds and investing in a club portfolio.

Primarily educational, investment clubs can be a great vehicle for beginning investors. Clubs offer the structure and support that many people need to get started investing, and clubs make it possible to get into the market without a big initial investment, which is another incentive for new investors.

Mutual Funds

This category will lists sites that deal in Mutual Funds that can be bought and sold by Canadians, in Canada.

A mutual fund is a company that brings together money from many people and invests it in stocks, bonds or other assets. The combined holdings of stocks, bonds or other assets the fund owns are known as its portfolio. Each investor in the fund owns shares, which represent a part of these holdings.
