The Business Services category lists sites that provide professional and administrative support services to a variety of businesses and organizations. In some cases, these companies also provide services to consumers, but providing services to other enterprises is their main focus.

Computers and Internet

Modern computers have become a universal tool, used in most occupations. The Internet itself, including the ODP, this Internet directory, is written on computers, stored on computers, presented by computers, and usually viewed on computers.

The Computers and Internet category contains sites relating to topics such as Hardware or Software sales and services, Internet access, web design and development, and consultants.

Construction and Maintenance

For resources related to constructing, maintaining, and demolishing buildings and other structures, including heavy construction and civil engineering (e.g. such as roads, power plants, and pipelines). Architects, janitorial/housekeeping services, handyman services, and site preparation services are also included.

This category does not include sites for home improvements such as window replacement and swimming pool installations. These are listed in Business and Economy/Home and Garden.

Directories

Province-wide business related portals and directories, including online yellow pages, that contain lists of business resources and/or company websites related to the region.

Entertainment and Media

This category is for sites dealing with the entertainment industry within British Columbia as a whole. Such listings would include sites for the video production industry, film industry, audio production, record labels and the like.

Sites that would not be appropriate here are those that are adult in nature or that are specific to a smaller region than the whole province (for example, a video production facility with a single office in Prince George, or a record label with offices within Vancouver and Surrey—these would fit in a locality and regional district category respectively).

Event Planning

For the listing of sites related to wedding, corporate, party, and other event planning services, including caterers, guides, convention and exhibition services.
