Gerry Anderson - British puppeteer, born 14 April 1929 West Hampstead, London, England.Made several animated TV series, including Fireball XL5, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, and Thunderbirds.
He was awarded the M.B.E. (Member of the British Empire) in 2001.
1960's Gerry Anderson produced animated puppet series featuring Captain Scarlet, who, with the rest of Spectrum, help protect the Earth from attack from the Mysterons.
Fireball XL5 was set in the year 2063, the series charted the interplanetary adventures of a spacecraft and its crew.
