Jindo County consists primarily of Jindo Island, a large island off the southwestern tip of the Korean peninsula. Its closest neighbor by land is Haenam County. The county is best known for the Jindo breed of dog, a Korean national symbol.

Suncheon

Suncheon City is a major port city in south central Jeonnam, situated on Suncheon Bay, an inlet of the South Sea (Korea Strait).

Wando

Wando County lies off the southern coast of Jeonnam in the South Sea (Korea Strait). It is close to the coasts of Haenam and Gangjin Counties.

Yeongam

Yeongam County is close to Mokpo City in southwestern Jeonnam.

Yeonggwang

Yeonggwang County is situated on the coast of the West Sea (Yellow Sea), in the northwestern corner of Jeonnam. It touches Jeonbuk province on its northern border.

Yeosu

Yeosu City shares the coast of Suncheon Bay with Suncheon City. It lies in southeastern Jeonnam province.
