Lobito is a city and a municipality of the province of Benguela, in Angola. It dates from 1905 and owes its existence to the bay of the same name having been chosen as the sea terminus of a railway to the far interior, passing through Katanga. The city is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. The population is about 153,000. The old council (concelho) was created in 1843.

Luanda (formerly called Loanda) is the largest city and capital of Angola. Located on the Atlantic Ocean, it is both Angola's chief seaport and administrative centre. It has a population of approximately 4,5 million (UN 2004 estimates), and is the capital city of Luanda Province.
