The Center for Contemporary African Studies at the University of Connecticut offers formal programs of graduate studies, encourages research on Africa, fosters student and faculty exchanges with African universities, organizes a speakers' program and a film series, sponsors visiting scholars, and offers information on Africa-related activities and resources to the wider community.
The Environmental Research Institute (ERI) is a multi-disciplinary research and teaching organization administered by the Research Foundation at the University of Connecticut, which is composed of over 50 affiliated faculty members from 17 different academic departments. The primary mission of ERI is to conduct high quality research on existing and emerging environmental problems, to support the development of environmental remediation technologies, and to disseminate the information gained from these endeavors through collaboration with governmental, industrial, and educational institutions.
